Falahudarain organises a lecture on Drug De-Addiction at Govt. Boys Hr. Secondary School, Baramulla

In collaboration with Govt. Boys Hr. Secondary School, Baramulla, Idarah Falahudarain today organised a Lecture on ‘Drug Addiction: Causes and Consequences’ to appraise students about the prevailing epidemic of drug addiction in Kashmir and the remedial strategies.
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Naushad Wani, Sr. Assistant Professor at Department of Psychology,
Government Degree College Baramulla.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Wani explained the basic terms related to drug addiction and informed the students about their meanings in an eloquent manner. He talked about dependency on drugs, the tolerance levels and highlighted the causes namely psychological, environmental, social and the biological. The learned speaker then talked about the social and psychological consequences of the drug addiction. Symptoms of the addicts and the intervention strategies were discussed at the end. The lecture was followed by Q&A session and the professor interacted with the students and heard their concerns.
Students described the lecture as enlightening and motivating.
Mr. Zahoor Ahmad Rather (Lecturer) moderated the session. Mr. Showkat thanked the speaker on behalf of the school administration.
Falahudarain shall continue with more lectures in the coming days.
