Friday Sermons, Mass Literature Distribution, Public Lectures and Meetings with the Adminstration on Drug De-Addiction marked the day-6 of the campaign

On 6th day of Drug De-Addiction Campaign, Falahudarain organised a lecture at Govt. Girls Hr. Secondary School, Baramulla. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Mudasir Hasan, Lecturer, Child Psychologist, Department of Paediatrics, Government Medical College, Baramulla. Talking to the girls at the school, Dr. Hasan explained the engagement of teens with drugs, its consequences and implications on the students’ lives. He eloquently elaborated the drug epidemic and its medical aspects. He asked the girls to help in promoting awareness about the possible treatments of drug addiction.
The Vice Principal of the school, Ms. Nighat mam appreciated the efforts and thanked Dr. Hasan, Falahudarain and the school students for making the program a success. Mr. Bilal Ahmad Wani, the Islamic Studies Educator moderated the session.
In the afternoon, Imams of the Jamia Masjids at Baramulla addressed the public on the theme of Drug abuse and the De-Addiction strategies. Falahudarain had requested the Imams to speak on the drug de-addiction and make public aware about the dangers of the drug menace. A detailed information booklet on the drug abuse in Kashmir and the responsibility of the society was already provided to the imams. Public appreciated the lectures on the burning issue during Friday Sermons and expressed enthusiasm to make collective efforts against the increasing dangers of the drug abuse.
At many places, Falahudarain distributed handbills among masses to create awareness about the exploding drug epidemic in Kashmir. People in large numbers were holding the tri fold containing information about the drug menace and its moral, ethical, social and medical aspects.
A bi fold was distributed among the students of Government boys Hr. Secondary School, Baramulla asking them to stay away from drugs and create awareness about the medical treatment of the addiction problem.
Meanwhile, Falahudarain associates met the officers of the district administration of almost all departments, media fraternity and other officials of tbe government with brochures informing on the drug pandemic. The officers were requested to take the drug menace seriously and adopt measures to curb the menace. The officers welcomed the members of Falahudarain and appreciated the efforts towards drug de addiction at Baramulla.
The Drug De-addiction Campaign will end tomorrow with many activities in store.
