Baramulla, October 25:
Deputy Commissioner Baramulla,Minga Sherpa, today flagged off a rally from the CMO Office Old Hospital complex Baramulla under the Tobacco Free Youth Campaign 3.0, an initiative aimed at creating awareness against tobacco use among youth.
The campaign, being organized by the Chief Medical Officer Baramulla under the aegis of the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir and National Health Mission, seeks to prevent initiation of tobacco use among youth, promote cessation among users, and strengthen enforcement of tobacco control laws.
Chief Medical Officer Baramulla, Dr. A.G. Raina,District Health Officer, Dr. Bhajan Kour, Ajaz Ahmad DPC,NTCP were present on the occasion.
Students of ANMT School and officials participated enthusiastically in the rally, raising slogans and holding placards to spread the message of a tobacco-free society.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC emphasized the need for collective efforts to discourage tobacco consumption and protect youth from its harmful effects. He appreciated the Health Department for organizing such awareness activities and urged continued community participation in the campaign.
