BARAMULLA, OCTOBER 08:
Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, today presided over a Block Diwas at Wagoora, an initiative aimed at bringing governance closer to the people and providing a platform for citizens to directly present their grievances and developmental concerns.
During the programme, residents and Public representatives highlighted several pressing issues, including the need for improved water supply, uninterrupted power supply, better road connectivity, and enhanced school infrastructure, along with other local development concerns.
The DC listened to the issues patiently, ensuring that every concern raised was carefully noted. Several issues were resolved on the spot, reflecting the administration’s proactive approach to citizen grievances.
Following the hearing, the DC directed the concerned officers to take immediate and time-bound action on all pending issues, emphasizing the importance of efficiency, accountability, and responsiveness in public service delivery.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said, “Block Diwas is an important initiative to strengthen the interface between the administration and the people. It allows citizens to directly present their concerns and helps us ensure that developmental schemes and services reach every part of the block. Our aim is to address issues promptly and ensure that governance truly reaches the doorstep of every citizen.”
Earlier, the DC inspected various stalls installed by different departments, aimed at creating awareness among the public regarding welfare schemes and benefits available to them.
