BARAMULLA, DECEMBER 18:

Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, today chaired a meeting at the Main Meeting Hall of DC office to review the preparation for the upcoming Republic Day-2026 celebration across Baramulla.
The DC directed all concerned departments to work in close coordination to ensure seamless arrangements for the national event.
The DC issued strict instructions for setting up awareness stalls highlighting various Government-sponsored schemes, while the DYSSO were tasked with organizing a cricket match as part of the celebrations.
The Chief Medical Officer was instructed to organize a medical camp during the event. Directions were also issued to concerned departments to ensure proper sanitation, uninterrupted essential services, adequate fire and emergency preparedness, and robust security arrangements.
Further, the District Information Officer was directed to ensure proper sound system arrangements and comprehensive media coverage of the event while ARTO Baramulla was instructed for ensuring transport for the students performing during the Republic Day function.
For felicitation during the celebrations, all departments were asked to submit nominations of employees for exemplary performances on or before 10 January.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized coordinated efforts among all stakeholders to ensure successful celebrations of Republic Day-2026.
The meeting was attended by the officers from the civil administration, police, army, BSF and other concerned agencies.
