Baramula, February 12:

Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Bupinder Kumar today chaired a meeting of concerned officers at his office Chamber in order to reviewe the overall functioning of Revenue Department in the district.

During the meeting, the DC had a detailed review presented by ACR pertaining to various Tehsil Revenue matters which include progress and deposition of Jamabandis, Girdawaries, progress on eviction of encroachment from State, Kahcharai, Common land and forest land and maintenance of Revenue Record for digitization.

The DC said that the updating of jamabandies is essential and pivotal in enabling the revenue records to be scanned and simultaneously digitized.

Regarding the issue of encroachments, the DC directed concerned Tehsildars to fix monthly targets of removing encroachments from government lands.

On the occasion, the SDMs were directed to organize meetings with subordinate sectoral officers besides paying frequent visits to different areas in their respective jurisdictions to resolve public issues.

Terming Revenue department as the backbone of administration, DC stressed more for accountability for the smooth functioning of revenue department in the district.

ADC Baramulla Zahoor Ahmad Raina, ACR,Mumtaz Ahmad ,SDMs of Gulmarg, Pattan and Uri, besides all Tehsildars and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
