Joint efforts and commitment is required to make the Nasha Mukt Campaign a reality, Asserts Dr Sehrish Aagar

Baramulla, November 28:
The Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today called for launching a village level aggressive campaign against drugs under ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ across the district.
Dr Sehrish Asgar said this while chairing a meeting to review implementation of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in the district at DC Office Hall here.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC stated that joint and relentless efforts and commitment is required to make the Nasha Mukt Baramulla a reality.
At the outset, DC instructed Officer from the Social Welfare department to hold a training cum awareness programme on the identification of early signs of drugs, where all Asha workers shall be trained to take the campaign door to door in their village to sensitize parents and other stakeholders about the identification and controlling measures.
On the occasion, District Social Welfare Officer Baramulla was directed to ensure aggressive campaigning is carried out for effective results. He was assigned to arrange resources persons of relevant departments who would deliberate on the topic during the programme.
Stressing on the drug abuse control at grass roots level, the DC instructed concerned authorities from Education Department to hold awareness camps at all schools and conduct regular teacher- parent meetings to disseminate relevant information.
The DC also instructed concerned to keep a tight vigil on all vulnerable groups including brick kilns and ensure effective enforcement against drugs.
Senior Superintendent of Police Baramulla, Rayees Mohammad Bhat, SSP Sopore, Nawab Shabir, Principal GMC Dr Ruby Reshi,Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr Zahoor Ahmad Raina, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore, Parveez Sajad,SDMs, CMO, DSWO, BDOs, and other concerned officers were attend the meeting.
