Gives 2 day extension to facilitate Journalists

KUPWARA, SEPTEMBER 07:

Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, Imam Din today convened a meeting, here to review the progress of data collection of media persons working in Kupwara district.

The meeting was attended by SSP Kupwara Dr. G V Sundeep and District Information Officer (DIO) Kupwara, Mohammad Yousuf Mir.

The Deputy Commissioner was informed that the data of media persons working in the district is being collected as per devised proforma which was circulated in the media group and all media persons have been asked to submit required data by 4 PM today, positively.

On the occasion the Deputy Commissioner said that those media persons who fail to submit the data shall not be allowed to work in the district to weed out the self styled reporters, against whom allegations of exploitation are levelled in the district.

Deputy Commissioner, however, allowed two day extension to facilitate the media persons, who could not submit their data today.

Now, as per the directions of Deputy Commissioner, the media persons working in Kupwara district are once again asked to submitted their data by September 09 upto 2 PM, positively, after that there would be no relaxation.

It is pertinent to mention that District Administration Kupwara has initiated a drive to check the authenticity of media persons working in the district, following the reports of allegations of black mailing and exploitation.
