Condolences continued to pour in on the sad demise of mother of renowned broadcaster Maqsood Ahmad and Grandmother of Idrees Bakhtiyar of India Times ,Aunt of Zaffar Iqbal correspondent Kashmir Uzama and Adv Towsel Ahmad who passed away after brief illness at SMHS Srinagar on Monday morning.
Large number of people from cross section of society visited the family on second day to condole the demise. Various journalists, trade union, social, political and religious organizations visited Garkote to express their condolences and prayed for eternal peace departed soul. Condolences and prayer meetings were held throughout the day in which rich tributes and homage was paid to departed soul.
Chairman JKCSF and former EJAC President Ab Qayoom Wani visited AIR Producer and noted Broadcaster Maqsood Ahmad at his residence in Garkote Uri and paid personal condolences on the demise of his mother. In a statement, Wani termed the demise as personal loss and said loss of mother can never be fulfilled and it leaves a huge void in family.
He regretted the loss and prayed for the eternal peace of her soul and courage to the bereaved family particularly to Maqsood Ahmad and Zafer Iqbal.Wani along with all the leaders of JKCSF showed sympathy and solidarity with the whole Khawja family of Garkote Uri at this time of grief.
Chairman Human Aid Society Kashmir Bashir Ahmad Mir along with Secretary Human Aid Society and members from Narvaw visited Garkote for condolences and prayed to Almighty Allah to rest his soul in peace and grant strength to the family, especially Maqsood Shab to bear the irreparable loss.
President Employees Joint Action Committee JK (EJAC) & Chairman JK Teachers Forum Mohd Rafique Rather also visited the family to express grief and shock on the sad demise of mother of the noted journalists.
Senior leader NC Mohmmad Shafi and District President NC Dr Sajjad Shafi Uri has expressed shock over the demise and has conveyed their heartfelt condolence with the bereaved family.
Dr Sajjad Shafi Uri in his condolence message said, “I pray for strength to the bereaved family especially to Maqsood Shab, to bear this inconsolable loss.”
