Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary, is taking proactive steps to boost the industrial sector in Jammu and Kashmir with emphasis on recalibrating incentives, streamlining approvals and establishing institutional mechanisms for revival of ailing industries.
He convened an exclusive meeting with the Jammu and Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) to discuss the strategies for promoting industrial growth and reviving sick units in J&K. The meeting aimed to create a conducive environment for the industries, focusing on income security, skill development and generating employment opportunities for locals.
President, Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Jammu, Arun Gupta, Treasurer, Rajesh Gupta and other representatives from JCCI besides officials were present in the meeting held at the Civil Secretariat, Jammu.
During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on various issues faced by the industrial stakeholders.
The Deputy Chief Minister assured that the hovernment is actively working towards addressing these concerns through timely and effective measures.
Emphasising the revival of sick industrial units, he stressed the need for revamping the industrial policy to facilitate ease of doing business and ensure smooth and timely operations of industries across J&K. He further highlighted the importance of providing adequate infrastructure, including uninterrupted water and power supply, improved road connectivity and other essential facilities in the industrial estates to support seamless functioning of the industrial units.
The stakeholders raised several key issues, including industrial incentive packages, timely release of allotments, streamlining of registration processes and concerns related to Phase-III Samba.
The Deputy Chief Minister assured that all their genuine concerns would be addressed on priority to further boost industrial growth in the region.
