Department is running many schemes for the welfare of its personnel and their families
Over rupees 56 Crore special welfare relief released in favour of 283 deceased/martyred personnel from January 2020

SRINAGAR, MAY 29:
Continuing with its endeavour to provide more and more help to the families of the police personnel who have passed away while in service, the Director-General of Police Shri Dilbag Singh has sanctioned rupees 2.40 crore as Special Welfare Relief for NoKs of deceased/martyred police personnel Who expired while in service.
The special welfare relief of rupees 20 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased/martyred police personnel SI Jameel Ahmad Lone,ASIs Gh. Rasool, Mohd Shafi, HC Aijaz Ahmad, Sgcts. Inderjeet Singh, Davinder Kumar, Mohd Yousf Bajad CTs. Suhail Mushtaq Lohar, Ramiz Raja, Amjad Hussain , CT (P) Sudershan Dev and Follower Ashok Kumar. Rupees one lakh each has been already paid to the families/ NoKs for performing the last rites as immediate relief by the PHQ through their concerned units. The financial assistance has been given out of the Contributory Police Welfare Fund.

Besides the existing welfare schemes, Police Headquarters has taken many initiatives to ensure increased help and assistance for the welfare of its personnel and their families.
