Dangiwacha: Director of Colleges for the Higher Education Department of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Dr. Sheikh Ajaz Bashir, conducted a visit to Government Degree College (GDC), Dangiwacha today to assess the overall functioning of the institution.

During his visit, Dr. Bashir reviewed the progress of ongoing construction work, including the main college building, newly constructed pre-fabricated huts, and the approach road to the college. Accompanied by Javid Ahmad Dar, Assistant Director of Planning, Higher Education, Dr. Bashir was joined by officials from various departments, including Roads & Buildings (R&B), Revenue, SICOP, and Irrigation and Flood Control, who were present on-site to provide updates and address concerns.
After a thorough review, Dr. Bashir expressed satisfaction with the progress and instructed the college Principal, Prof. Imtiyaz Ahmad Parray, to immediately shift academic operations to the newly constructed pre-fabricated huts. This move aims to ensure that students and staff can conduct academic activities in a conducive and uninterrupted environment. Later, Dr. Bashir held discussions with key stakeholders, including members of the Dangiwacha Civil Society. During the meeting, he emphasized the importance of ensuring smooth access to the college for students and staff.
He urged the owners of the land along the approach road to refrain from creating any obstacles that could hinder movement to and from the institution. The visit underscored the commitment of the Higher Education Department to improving infrastructure and academic facilities in the region, ensuring a better learning environment for students at GDC, Dangiwacha.
