Youth Co-ordinator J&K RTI Movement Naveed Bukhtiyar has requested all elected representatives of district Baramulla to discloses the plan to public before submitting it to government for development activities.
A statement issued here said that every organ of state involved in development activities should adopt utmost transparency in drafting and submitting such proposal.
“It is not not only a guaranteed right under the RTI law but also a basic human right,” it reads.
“People visit different corridors of offices for inclusion of their different developmental works and the surprising response always they get is that it will be included in next plan. It is imperative that all proposal needs to be disclosed so that people could get acquainted with those proposed works which affects them,” he said.
The youth co-ordinator also requested elected representative to respect RTI Law and implement section 4 in letter and spirit that is they should suo muto disclose the proposals for submission.
He also said that elected representatives to call objections on such plan proposals.
“The act will not alone boost transparency but also increase people participation in democracy, ” he added.
