Baramulla, December 11:
District Legal Services Authority Baramulla in collaboration with Tehsil Legal Service Committees today organized Special Lok Adalats across the district. The Adalats were conducted under the Chairmanship of Principal District & Sessions Judge Baramulla Mohammad Yousuf Wani.
At District Court Baramulla, the Lok Adalat was inaugurated by the Principal District ans Sessions Judge wherein 06 benches were constituted for hearing the cases. These benches were respectively chaired by Chairman DLSA, Mohd Yousuf Wani, Ist Additional District Judge, Mohd Ashraf Khan, Additional District Judge, OP Baghat, Sub Judge Mansoor Ahmad Lone, Special Mobile Magistrate Sajad-ur- Rehman , Secretary DLSA Baramulla Mir Sayeem Qayoom respectively.
The Lok Adalat comprised of total 14 benches were constituted in the entire district in which 2026 different cases/ matters were taken up, out of which 1420 cases were settled amicably on spot. An amount of Rs 2.46 Crore was also recovered as the settlement amount. Amount on account of composition, maintenance charges and civil cases were also realised respectively.
Speaking on the occassion, Chairman DLSA Baramulla said that the main objective of organizing such Lok Adalats is to help people in general and poor and weaker sections of the society in particular.
Moreover, Secretary DLSA Baramulla, Mir Sayeem Qayoom Said that the objective holding such Lok Adalats is to make availability of ‘Justice for all’ a reality as per the mandate of the constitution.
