Says directive lacks clarity, aimed at intimidation

Srinagar, Nov 04 :

National Conference (NC) President and Member of the Parliament from Srinagar Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Saturday expressed concern over the recent government order on employees saying that it lacks clarity and seems to be aimed at intimidation.

As per a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Dr. Farooq said this while talking to media persons at the party headquarters Nawa-e-Subha, Srinagar.

Earlier he had a detailed interaction with party functionaries including General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Party Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq, State Women’s wing President Shameema Firdous, YNC Provincial President Salman Ali Sagar, Provincial President Women’s wing Er. Sabiya Qadri, Social Media In Charge Ifra Jan, District President Baramulla Dr. Sajad Shafi Uri and other district Srinagar functionaries.

On the government order, Dr. Farooq said, “Legitimate dissent is a distinguishable feature of any democracy. It is not as to whether the issue raised by the protestors is right or wrong or it is justified or unjustified. The fundamental aspect is the right which is conferred upon all people in a democracy.”—(KNO)
