SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY ,25 :

A magnitude 5.3 earthquake struck the Afghanistan–Tajikistan border region at a depth of 80 km at 4:43 pm IST on Wednesday, officials said. Tremors were felt across Afghanistan, Pakistan and parts of Jammu and Kashmir.

Mild tremors in the Kashmir Valley caused brief concern among residents. No immediate reports of major damage, injuries or structural losses have been received.

Authorities are monitoring the situation and assessing any potential impact. Residents have been urged to remain calm while further updates are awaited.(KL)
