“Journalists should work as a bridge between administration and common masses: Maqsood Ahmed

URI /BARAMULLA NOVEMBER 15 :

Renowned broadcaster and editor of a popular news and current affairs program of All India Radio Srinagar, Shaherbeen, Maqsood Ahmad was on Monday conferred with Dr Aziz Hajni award by Sagar Cultural forum at Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.


While talking to media persons he said that it is a huge honour for him to receive this award of such a great personality.

“I was extremely delighted to receive this award at my native village and my school from where I had pursued my basic education. I have been honoured with state award and gold medal and some national awards also but today my happiness knew no bounds when I received this award in my hometown,” he said.

He said that he received this award from his own people and what more shall he desire now. “I am thankful to Sagar Cultural Forum for nominating me for this award.”

He also thanked former law minister Basharat Bukhari, chief education officer Baramulla, SDPO and Ranjoor Talgami for honouring him with this prestigious award and supporting him.

Replying to a question, he said that as a media person it is the duty of every journalist to highlight issues and bring them into the public sphere.

“Journalists should work as a bridge between administration and common masses. This is the job of journalist and every journalist should do their work with utmost honesty and credibility without any bias,” he said.
