Pattan ; 3 March, 2022;
As the schools reopened on 2nd March 2022 throughout the valley after a gap of almost three years, unfortunately education department failed to reopen one of the schools here at Trikolbal area of Pattan Baramula even after three years.

The Govt SSA Primary School Nowpora Trikolbal Pattan remained closed on 2nd March as well and is still closed even after all the other schools were reopened and education department has put the career of hundreds of students in danger.
As per reports, the land for the said school building was provided by one of the residents of the area from his personal property and was asaured for the compensation but till date was never paid any compensation by the education department.
On one hand education department is making loud announcements to boost child education but on the other hand they failed to address these types of issues.
‘’If the department had any sort of dispute with the landlord, they must have sorted out it during the off period’’, said one of the residents.
As per residents the officers who head the education department have their kiths and kins studying in renowned private institutions but on the other hand they are putting the career of poor family students in peril.
Though ZEO Singhpora was contacted regarding the issue, he had no clue about this which clearly states how operative they are on ground.
Now local residents of Nowpora Trikolbal appeal LG office, DC Baramulla and other concerned authorities to look into the matter and take strict notice of the issue. In addition the concerned Education Department/Zone must be taken accountable for not solving the issue during the off period as the issue has put the carrier of many students at stake in addition to their hard earning families.
Its pertinent to mention here that Tehsildar Pattan rushed to the spot and took note of the situation and assured general public to take up the matter with the concerned authorities and get it addressed as soon as possible. He requested the landlord to open the school building on humanitarian grounds.
