Regularisation of thousands of Daily wagers, adhoc and other temperary workers working in other departments need to be considered on priority: Rafique Rather

JK Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) has hailed the historic decision of government to formulate regularisation policy in favour of 12000 PDL/TDL working in PDD and called it a welcome step.
In a press statement President EJAC said that long pending demand of PDD employees has finally been acceded to and justice is being delivered to the employees who have suffered a lot during all these years. He said that hundreds of PDL/TDL have died in line of duty and their familes are suffering as there is no other source of income to feed these families with the result are left to starvation. Rather said that orders for regularisation of PDL/TDL should be issued immediately as has been accepted by the government besides, a comprehensive rehabilitation policy in favour of all those who have died during duties by providing them compensation and benefits of SRO-43.
president EJAC said that thousands of adhoc, daily wagers, temperory and all other such employees who have rendered more then twenty years service in different departments are also waiting for their regularisation which has not been addressed by respective governments so for, with the result their sufferings get multiplied on each passing day and added that government has already accepted these demands put forth by leadership of EJAC from time to time.
President EJAC urged upon the government to formulate a comprehensive regularisation policy for all adhoc, daily wagers, temprary and other such employees working in different departments. He demanded immediate implementation of minimum wages act till their regularisation.
Rafique Rather expressed hope that Hon’ble Lieutenant governor and worthy Chief Secretary will consider this long pending, justified and legitimate demand of EJAC on humanitarian grounds so that there is an end to the sufferings of thousands of familes.
