Chief engineer, two SE’s to investigate the matter

Srinagar, October 17 :
Two JE’s and a line man were suspended after a daily wager died due to electrocution in Shopian.
On 15 October a Power Development Department (PDD) dailywager died of electrocution in Shopian Main town of South Kashmir Shopian district, officials said.
In the incident Sajad Ahmad Sheikh resident of Shopian received a high voltage jolt while repairing an electric wire in the town.
The individual, they said, was evacuated to District hospital from where he was declared brought dead on arrival.
Meanwhile taking cognizance of the incident,the department
has suspended two junior engineers and one lineman of the department, an official said.
The department has initiated an enquiry into the matter and the involved persons will be dealt strictly and so far two Junior engineers and one line man have been placed under suspension.
The Managing director of Power development department chowdhary mohd Yasin said that the department is with the bereaved family and department is investigating the matter thoroughly. (KNA)
