SRINAGAR, OCTOBER ,22 :
The Awami Ithehad Party on Sunday said that they have decided to field its supremo Er Raheed, who is in Tihar jail since 2019, from Baramulla constituency to contest Lok Sabha elections 2024.
In a statement, issued to KNS, a spokesperson said that AIP political affairs committee headed by Ishtiyaq Qadri unanimously decided to contest the Lok Sabh Elections in all the five constituencies in J&K on its own and independently.
The statement reads that keeping in view the aspirations and sentiments of the voters of Baramulla party supremo Er Rasheed will be fielded as a candidate from this constituency.
The party also demanded the unconditional release of all political prisoners including Er Rasheed. (KNS)
