Four members expelled from BWJA, basic membership cancelled

An important meeting of Executive members of Baramulla Working Journalists Association was held at Watergam Rafaibabad on Tuesday.
The meeting was hosted by senior journalist and executive member of BWJA, Iqbal Amin at his residence in which various issues were discussed threadbarely.
Under the chairmanship of Chairman BWJA Karamat Qayoom, President BWJA Gulzar Ahmad flanked by vice President Sajad Hussain presided over the meeting in which scores of executive body members participated and it was unanimously decided to enhance the executive body and important positions were assigned to them so that they will work for the betterment of BWJA.
During the meeting, it was also decided that Mudasir Ahmad Malla, Abdul Lateef Bhat, B.A Sagar and Manzoor Sheeri will be the new executive members of BWJA, while as few members that had gone against the norms and basic principles of the association were expelled from the association and their basic membership has been cancelled. The expelled members include Sheikh Dawood, Nisar Ahmad Yatoo, Kounsar Ahmad Etv Bharat Sopore, and Mohammad Younis.
The Executive Body Meeting also reaffirmed that indiscipline whatsoever will be not tolerated in future, and if any member tries work anti association and create unruly behaviour, his basic membership will be cancelled from BWJA with immediate effect.
It was also decided that in the coming days, BWJA will organise a one day professional workshop for its members in which senior journalists from the UT will deliver their lecture and presentation on various topics to hone the professional skills of BWJA members.
The meeting was attended by senior journalists and executive members of BWJA including Chairman, Haji Karamat Qayoom, President Zargar Gulzar, Vice president Sajad Hussain, Advisor Altaf Baba, Gen Secretary Anzar Mahjoo, Iqbal Amin, Suhail Khan, Majeed Sheeri, Mudasir Ahmad Malla and others.
