SRINAGAR ,MAY ,13 :

The High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh has revoked the certificate of enrolment of Advocate Sajad Ahmad Shah after it was found that he had obtained a fake and forged LL.B degree.

According to order, News Agency , that the Notification No. 464 RG/LP dated May 13, 2025, the decision was taken pursuant to a resolution passed by the Admission and Enrollment Committee on April 29, 2025.

Shah, a resident of Aquilmir, Khanyar in Srinagar, was initially enrolled as an advocate under License No. JK-225/09 dated July 17, 2009. His name had appeared on the official Roll of the Bar Council of Jammu and Kashmir through Notification No. 345 dated September 9, 2010. However, following an inquiry into the authenticity of his degree, it was found that the LL.B qualification he submitted was not genuine.

“In view of the findings, the certificate of enrolment issued in favour of Sh. Sajad Ahmad Shah is hereby revoked, and his name is removed from the Roll of Bar Council of Jammu and Kashmir,” the notification stated.

Further proceedings or possible criminal implications regarding the forged degree are yet to be made public.
