Notwithstanding the spectating position in the religious interference of  people, Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum on Friday said that every sane person knew the fundamental rights and basics of the Muslims wherein Hijab is part of  the vitals, it said in a statement issued by Chairman Abdul Qayoom Wani. Wani expressed surprise over the interim judgment given by The Karnataka High Court on Thursday in the Karnataka hijab case which said that students should not insist on wearing religious attire in educational institutions. Reacting to the decision, Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum said, it means that court had asked Muslim women to suspend their faith until the High Court completes its hearing on the issue. “As a result, it is not possible for a believer to practice his faith whenever he wants and to give up whenever he wants” the statement said

Hijab is a mandatory religious practice in Islam.  Subjecting it to the judiciary under the expectations of probabilities of permission or a ban will be the strangulation of the democracy of this country which ensures  that every person is free to practice his religion and culture.

Society Chairman also expressed concern over the growing crimes in society. Wani expressed solidarity with the two minor girls injured in the attack by a thief in Batamaloo on Friday and applauded the swift action people and   police in arresting the thief and demanded stern action against such criminals so that it will serve as a lesson for the criminals.
