SOPORE, OCTOBER 09 ::

Family members of a man from Achhabal area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, who is missing since September 22, staged a protest to seek whereabouts of their missing kin.

Reports reaching Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that scores of family members and relatives of missing man appeared at Fruit Mandi Sopore this morning and staged protest, appealing the police to speed up its efforts in tracing the missing person.

They said that Ghulam Nabi Naikoo (47) of Achhabal area of Sopore had gone for a business trip to Shopian on September 22 but did not return home till date.

They said a formal missing complaint was also lodged at the local police station but he is yet to be traced.

“We are apprehensive about the safety of our kin, don’t know whether he is alive or God forbade dead. We have gathered here to appeal the police to speed up investigation and trace him at the earliest,” said one of the relatives of Naikoo.

Meanwhile, a police official associated with the investigation in the case told KNS that efforts were on to trace the missing fruit trader. (KNS)
