The Department of Dermatology, GMC Baramulla conducted a one-day CME on Psoriasis and Its Comorbidities under the esteemed patronage of Principal Prof. Dr. Majid Jahangir. The Guests of Honour included:
- Prof. Dr. Seema Qayoom, HOD Dermatology, SKIMS Medical College Bemina
- Prof. Dr. Sheikh Manzoor, Former Head, Dermatology, SKIMS Bemina.
The programme was chaired and commenced with a formal address by the Principal, followed by speeches from the Medical Superintendent, Prof. Dr. Sheikh Manzoor, and Prof. Dr. Seema Qayoom. Their remarks emphasized the importance of understanding psoriasis, its management, and the significant burden it places on healthcare systems.
The inaugural ceremony was conducted with traditional Izband Sozi, graced by the patron, guests of honour, and other dignitaries.
The academic sessions began with a presentation by Dr. Parvaiz Anwar, HOD Dermatology, GMC Baramulla, followed by expert talks from distinguished dermatologists and faculty across the valley, including:

Special sessions highlighted the impact of psoriasis across disciplines from faculty GMC Baramulla
- Orthopaedics – musculoskeletal comorbidities
- Psychiatry – psychosocial burden
- Chest Medicine – tuberculosis associations
- psoriasis in pregnancy
- Community Medicine – public health perspective
Speakers discussed psoriasis in different age groups, diverse treatment modalities, new treatment modalities and the overall burden of the disease.
- Panel Discussions: Provided a platform for fruitful academic exchange and practical insights.
- PG Quiz: Engaged residents and added an interactive dimension to the CME.
A felicitation ceremony was held, followed by a vote of thanks.
Dr. Parvaiz Anwar, Organising Chairperson,Dr. Peerzada Sajad, Organising Secretary expressed gratitude to the Principal, Medical Superintendent, Guests of Honour, dignitaries, and participants for their valuable contributions and presence.
The CME is accredited with 4 credit points, adding academic value and recognition to the event.
