Kupwara, May 28 :
Maternal uncle of Rehan Showkat, Editor-in-Chief of Global News Service (GNS) and newspaper Kashmir Glory, passed away this afternoon.
Javid Ahmad Hajam, 40, as per a close relative was not doing well for over a considerable period of time now. His condition deteriorated considerably this afternoon and was taken to SDH Kupwara, where he subsequently breathed his last, they said.
The funeral prayers to the departed soul have not been announced yet.
Meanwhile, Civil Society and many media bodies have extended their conmiserations to the bereaved family and especially to Showkat Ahmad over the untimely demise of Javid Ahmad. (GNS)
