Government Medical College Baramulla observed World AIDS Day today, with a series of events aimed at raising awareness about HIV/AIDS and promoting prevention, treatment, and support.
The theme of this year’s World AIDS Day was “Take the Rights Path” to end AIDS–
The world can end AIDS – if everyone’s rights are protected. With human rights at the centre, with communities in the lead, the world can end AIDS as a public health threat by 2030. The Associated Hospital and Medical College organized a range of activities, including:
- Ribbon ceremony to remind Healthcare professionals about the importance of the World AIDS day
- A rally to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS
- A seminar on the latest developments in HIV prevention, treatment, and care.
Principal Govt.Medical College Baramulla Prof.Dr Majid Jehangir saiid, “World AIDS Day is an important reminder of the need to continue our efforts to prevent, treat, and support those affected by HIV/AIDS. We must work together to protect the rights of everyone particularly the vulnerable groups to address the inequalities that drive this epidemic.”
The event was attended by students, faculty members, and staff, as well as representatives from local NGOs and community organizations.
