SRINAGAR, AUGUST 12 :
The government on Thursday constituted a five member committee to oversee rationalization of higher educational institutions across Jammu and Kashmir.
In this regard, an order was issued by the General Administration Department, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
“Sanction is accorded to the constitution of a committee of five officers to oversee the rationalization of higher educational institutions in Jammu and Kashmir,” it reads.
The government has designated an administrative secretary for the higher education department as the chairperson of the committee.
The four other nominated persons will act as the members of the committee that includes Director General (Budget) of Finance Department, Director General (Codes) of Finance Department, Director (Finance) for Higher Education Department and Director (Planning) of Higher Education Department.
Stating the terms of reference of the committee, the government said that it will study the requirements of higher educational institutions in the JK.
“Rationalization of existing higher educational institutions and recommending the criteria for opening of future higher educational institutions in the JK and the committee shall be serviced by the higher education department and shall submit its report within a period of 15 days,” it reads—(KNO)
