Srinagar, July 30:

The Jammu and Kashmir Government has directed all officers and officials stationed in Srinagar and Jammu to attend the main Independence Day functions to be held on August 15, 2025, at Bakshi Stadium Srinagar and Maulana Azad Stadium Jammu as part of their official duty.

According to a circular issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), as per news agency, Independence Day is an important national event celebrated on 15th of August every year.

It is the duty of every government servant to attend the function which commemorates an important turning point in the history of our Nation, circular reads.

All the officers/officials in the Union territory stationed at Srinagar/Jammu are enjoined upon to attend the main function of Independence Day Celebrations, 2025 at Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar/Maulana Azad Stadium, Jammu, respectively, as part of their official duty. Any absence shall only be permissible with the prior permission of their immediate superior, it reads.

All Administrative Secretaries, Heads of the Departments, Managing Directors, Chief Executives of the Public Sector Undertakings/Corporations/Boards shall ensure that all the officers/officials working under their administrative control, stationed at Srinagar/Jammu attend the function at their respective place(s), it reads.

The circular further instructed Administrative Secretaries, Heads of Departments, Managing Directors, and Chief Executives of Public Sector Undertakings, Corporations, and Boards to ensure that all officers and officials under their control attend the celebrations at their respective places, reads the circular.
