Srinagar, July 29 :

The Jammu and Kashmir Government has constituted a high-level committee to examine the issue of cracks reported on the Bemina Flyover, part of the Srinagar-Baramulla Highway Bypass.

According to Government Order issued by the General Administration Department as per news agency JKNS, the committee will conduct a detailed technical inspection to assess the nature, extent, and causes of the cracks, examine the design and construction methodology, identify lapses in execution, and evaluate the current structural safety of the flyover.

The panel is headed by the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar as Chairman, with members including the Engineer-in-Chief PW(R&B) Department, Chief Engineer PW(R&B) Kashmir, Chief Engineer Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL), Chief Engineer Design, Inspection & Quality Control Kashmir, Senior Superintendent of Police Traffic Srinagar, and an expert from NIT Srinagar.

The committee has been tasked to submit its report within one month, suggesting remedial measures to ensure structural integrity and public safety. (JKNS)
