Hospital administrators express gratitude to govt for fulfilling their long pending demand

Srinagar, July 14 :
Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday accorded sanction to the creation of Department of Hospital Administration in Government Medical Colleges of Srinagar and Jammu.
According to an order, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), sanction has been accorded to the creation of the Department of Hospital Administration in Government Medical Colleges of Srinagar and Jammu in tune with the National Medical Commission (erstwhile Medical Council of India) and National Board of Examination (NBE) guidelines.
Meanwhile, hospital administrators have termed the decision as historic and thanked the government for fulfilling their long pending demand.
They said that the creation of Department of Hospital Administration in GMC Srinagar and Jammu in addition to recently sanctioned Departments of Hospital Administration in GMC Udhampur and Handwara, is a landmark decision in the history of Medical Education of J&K.
They added that it will pave way for scientific management of healthcare institutions by qualified hospital administrators across Jammu and Kashmir.
