Srinagar, Dec 02 :
The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Tuesday announced the formation of a high-level committee to prepare a streamlined and uniform transfer policy for Regularized Rehbar-e-Taleem (RReT) teachers across the Union Territory.
In an Government Order No. 687-(JK) Edu of 2025, issued, SED, as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, the committee has been entrusted with reviewing all aspects related to transfers, postings and adjustments of RReTs and framing a transparent and student-oriented policy.
According to the directive, the Special Secretary of the School Education Department will chair the committee. Other members include the Additional Secretary (MAB), Joint Director (Central) Kashmir, Joint Director Jammu, Deputy Secretary (U) serving as the Member Secretary, and the Under Secretary (T) of the department.
The order outlines that the Terms of Reference (ToR) for the committee include examining existing transfer mechanisms for RReTs.
The panel has also been instructed to design a uniform, need-driven and student-focused transfer framework aimed at ensuring transparency, rational staff deployment and administrative efficiency. It will additionally study the viability of periodic transfers, hardship-based postings and tenure-specific placements for RReT teachers.
The committee has been directed to submit a comprehensive report along with the draft policy within a period of two months. It may also co-opt additional members if required. (KNC)
