Handwara, Feb 18 :

A 36 -year-old of man from Sirajpur area of Handwara was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Firozpur area of Punjab on Thursday, a day after the went missing, even as family members alleged he was murdered.

Reports reaching Kashmir News Service (KNS), said that Mushtaq Ahmad Mir son of Habibullah Mir, who was selling shawls in Firozpur was found dead under mysterious circumstances today morning.

Meanwhile, one of the family members told KNS that Mushtaq used to go Punjab every year to sell shawls and would usually stay there for at least 4-5 months.

“On Thursday his phone was switched off, following which his colleagues filed a missing complaint in the nearest police station there. Next day he was found dead in the nearby fields,” he said.

The family members alleged that he has been murdered and demanded a thorough probe into the incident.

Meanwhile, taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Peoples Conference chairman, Sajad Lone demanded justice for the family.

“Mushtaq A Mir of Sirajpora Handwara, Kashmir was found dead in Ferozpore Punjab. The family believes he was murdered, strangulated or hanged to death,” he Tweeted. (KNS)
