The Jammu and Kashmir on Friday constituted a seven-member committee to ensure successful conduct of Har Ghar Jhanda programme across the Union Territory.

As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the government has constituted a committee headed by the Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Home department.

“Sanction is hereby accorded to the constitution of Committee for celebration of Har Ghar Jhanda Programme in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir,” reads an order, issued in this regard by Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, Principal Secretary to the Government.

Principal Secretary to the Government, Housing & Urban Development Department, Principal Secretary to the Government, Higher Education Department, Principal Secretary to the Government, Youth, Services & Sports Department, Principal Secretary to the Government, School Education Department and Secretary to the Government, Culture Department have been appointed as members of the committee, it said, adding that Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj has been appointed as the member secretary of the panel.

“The Committee shall ensure successful conduct of Har Ghar Jhanda Programme across the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir in consultation with Government of India, as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,” the order reads, adding that it can co-opt any other member as may deem fit and shall be serviced by Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj.
