In a significant breakthrough, Jammu Police have arrested a dreaded and history-sheeter criminal, Bagh Hussain alias Baghu alias Sunny, son of Mangat Ali, originally from Laswara (Tehsil Bishnah) and presently residing near Balol Nallah, Bari Brahmana. The arrest was made from the state of Haryana following an intensive investigation into FIR No. 53/2025 under serious sections of the BNS and Arms Act at Police Station Miran Sahib.
The accused, involved in the recent Baribrahmana attack on a police party, is wanted in 27 FIRs across Jammu, Samba, and Himachal Pradesh. These include grave charges such as attempt to murder, dacoity, kidnapping, and attacks on police teams, with 8 cases of direct assaults on law enforcement, including the recent attack on SHO Bari Brahmana.
During interrogation, Hussain revealed he had hidden a loaded pistol and a “kulhadi” (axe) in Banachak village, Bishnah. While police moved to recover the weapons, the accused attempted to snatch the service weapon of a constable, resulting in a scuffle and injury to the officer.
In self-defence, police opened fire, injuring the accused. He was immediately shifted to SDH Bishnah and remains under police custody.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Gurmeet Singh, led by Inspector Jai Pal Sharma, PSI Ajesh Jamwal, and SHO Bishnah Inspector Sushil Choudhary.
Senior officers including SSP Jammu Joginder Singh (JKPS) and SP Headquarters Ajay Sharma (JKPS) have commended the bravery and swift action of the team. Further investigation is ongoing to expose Hussain’s wider criminal network.
