JAMMU, OCTOBER,21 :

A Single Judge Bench of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh, Jammu presided over by Justice Rahul Bharti while hearing a Writ Petition took suo moto cognizance of the
fact that the officer who had passed the impugned order in the Writ Petition i.e. Additional Deputy Commissioner (With Powers of Commissioner, Agrarian Reforms), Rajouri seems to be possessing not even an elementary knowledge of the law pertaining to the Land Revenue Act as well as the other attending laws, which includes the provisions of the Agrarian Reforms Act, 1976 and accordingly directed the Financial Commissioner Revenue/Commissioner, Agrarian Reforms of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir to withdraw the powers of the said officer as Commissioner under the Agrarian Reforms Act, 1976 and as the Collector under the Land Revenue Act, 1996 from the official presently posted as Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri with immediate effect till further orders of the Court.

The Court further directed the Registrar Judicial, Jammu to send the copy of the order to the FC(R), J&K for notice and compliance.
The matter will be Listed on 05-12-2022.
