Constitution Day also celebrated across all District Courts

In an inspiring celebration of democratic principles and constitutional values, the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Srinagar Wing today on 26th November 2024 celebrated the 75th Constitution Day also known as also known as Samvidhan Divas in the Conference Hall of the High Court Complex, Srinagar.

The sanctity of the auspicious occasion necessitates the rightful duty of the citizens to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution.

On the occasion, Justice Atul Sreedharan, Judge, High Court of J&K and Ladakh, led the reading of the preamble to the Constitution, in the presence of Justice Puneet Gupta, Justice Wasim Sadiq Nargal and Justice Rajesh Sekhri.

The event was also attended by Shahzad Azeem, Registrar General, Tasleem Arief, Registrar Vigilance, Farooq Ahmad Bhat, Registrar (Judicial) and Fayaz Ahmad Qureshi, CPC (e- Court) besides other officers/ officials of the Registry of the High Court.

Meanwhile, the Constitution Day was also observed today across all District Courts of the division, marked by reading of the Preamble of Indian Constitution by Principal District and Sessions Judges to reaffirm commitment to uphold its ideology.

This symbolic act aimed to reinforce and promote the core values enshrined in the Indian Constitution, emphasizing justice, equality, fraternity and the rule of law.

Constitution Day, also known as Samvidhan Divas, holds great significance as it highlights the establishment of India as a sovereign, socialist, secular, and democratic republic. It serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility and commitment towards upholding the constitutional principles that strengthen our nation.

In Baramulla, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Baramulla, in collaboration with District Judiciary Baramulla, celebrated Constitution Day with great fervor and enthusiasm within the premises of the District Court Complex Baramulla.

The programme was held under the distinguished chairmanship of the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Baramulla/ Chairman DLSA Baramulla, Jawad Ahmad and under the supervision of Secretary, DLSA Baramulla, Javaid Ahmad Parray.

The celebration witnessed the presence of Jawad Ahmad, Principal District and Sessions Judge/Chairman DLSA Baramulla; Amarjit Singh Langeh, 1st ADJ Baramulla; Pawan Kumar Sharma, ADJ Baramulla; Abdul Quayom Mir Spl. NDPS Judge Baramulla, Sub-Judge Baramulla, Special Mobile Magistrate Baramulla and JMIC/ Munsiff Baramulla.

Among the attendees included court staff, DLSA staff, LADC Baramulla, Prosecution staff, e-court staff, Panel Lawyers and PLVs of DLSA Baramulla. Their collective presence was a testament to the spirit of collaboration and encapsulated the values of equality and access to justice.

The event commenced with the reading of the preamble by the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Baramulla/ Chairman DLSA Baramulla, who was joined by the Ld. Judicial officers, staff members of both District Court and DLSA Baramulla.

Constitution Day was also celebrated at TLSC Sopore, TLSC Pattan, TLSC Tangmarg, TLSC Dangiwacha, TLSC Boniyar and TLSC Uri.

In Anantnag, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Anantnag observed Constitution Day with a dignified ceremony held at the District Court Complex, Anantnag under the supervision of the Chairman DLSA (Principal District & Sessions Judge) Anantnag, Tahir Khurshid Raina and under the guidance of Secretary DLSA, Muzamil Ahmad Wani.

The event commenced with the Chairman reading aloud the Preamble of the Constitution, a gesture symbolizing respect for the nation’s foundational principles. All Judicial Officers, Legal Aid Defense counsels, staff members, advocates and PlVs recited the Preamble in harmony, reaffirming their commitment to the core values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity.

The ceremony was attended by all Judicial Officers of the district. Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman emphasized the importance of safeguarding the spirit of the Constitution and urged everyone to actively work towards promoting its values in their professional and personal lives.

The observance concluded with a renewed resolve to uphold the sanctity of the Constitution and ensure that its guiding principles continue to inspire justice and equality for all.

In Srinagar, the District Judiciary Srinagar & District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar observed Constitution Day with great fervor and enthusiasm at District Court Complex Srinagar.

The programme was held under the guidance of Jaffer Hussain Beg, Chairman District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) and Principal District & Sessions Judge Srinagar, and under the supervision of Nusrat Ali Hakak, Sub-Judge/Secretary DLSA Srinagar.

The celebration witnessed the presence of all esteemed Ld. Judicial officers of District Court Srinagar. Among the attendees were Administrative Staff, Court Staff, DLSA Staff, Legal Aid Defence Counsels, Panel Lawyers and Para Legal Volunteers.

The celebration included a diverse range of activities. The celebration commenced with a collective reading of the Preamble to the Constitution led by Principal District and Sessions Judge, /Chairman DLSA Srinagar, who was joined by all Ld. Judicial Officers, Officers and Officials of District Court Srinagar and DLSA Srinagar. This symbolic gesture underscored the significance of the Constitution in upholding justice and equality.

Following the reading of the Preamble, the event continued with a rally through the District Court Complex, where all the Ld. Judicial Officers and staff members participated. The rally emphasized the importance of constitutional values and sought to raise awareness among the public and litigants.

In addition, DLSA Srinagar set up a help desk at the public entrance gate (near petitition writers block) of the District Court Complex, for providing guidance and legal assistance to litigants and visitors.

In a bid to expand the reach of the observance, DLSA Srinagar organized another awareness programme in collaboration with Kashmir Law Circle, an NGO, at Ghanta-Ghar, Lal Chowk. During this event, the Preamble of the Constitution was read by officials, Para-Legal Volunteers of DLSA Srinagar, and members of Kashmir Law Circle (NGO), further spreading the message of constitutional values to a broader audience.

The celebrations aimed to promote awareness of the Constitution, encourage citizens to understand their fundamental rights, and reinforce the commitment of the judiciary and legal services authorities in upholding the rule of law.

In Budgam, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Budgam, organized an impactful program at the Courtroom of District Court Complex, Budgam in commemoration of Constitution Day.

The event witnessed the presence of O.P. Bhagat, Chairman DLSA (PDJ), Budgam, who graced the occasion as the chief guest.

The event resonated with the participation of Judicial Officers of District Budgam, Members of the Bar, Administrative and Ministerial Staff of District Judiciary Budgam, Members of the LADC System, Panel Lawyers, Staff members, and para Legal Volunteers(Aadhikar Mitra’s) of DLSA, Budgam..

Addressing the audience, PDJ underscored the profound significance of the Constitution as the bedrock of our democratic ethos, emphasizing its role in upholding justice, equality, and fundamental rights.

A beautiful moment unfolded as participants engaged in a joint reading of the Preamble, led by PDJ symbolizing a heartfelt tribute to the essence and spirit of the Constitution. This collective recitation served as a powerful reminder of our shared commitment to the ideals and aspirations embedded in our nation’s foundational document.

Similar kinds of functions were also held at Taluka Levels and Juvenile Justice Board of district Budgam, Wherein the senior Most Judicial Officer led the prayer of Preamble reading.

Earlier in the celebration of constitution day DLSA Budgam conducted door to door awareness through the PLVs (Aadhikar Mitra’s) in different hamlets of District Budgam, wherein people were apprised about the importance of Constitution.

In Pulwama, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Pulwama under the chairmanship of Naseer Ahmad Dar, Chairman DLSA (Pr. District & Sessions Judge), Pulwama and under the supervision of Mudasar Farooq Secretary DLSA Pulwama today celebrated ‘Constitution Day’ at District Court Complex Pulwama.

The programme was attended by Judicial Officers of District Court Pulwama, Staff members of District Court Pulwama, DLSA, LADCS, Panel Lawyers, PLVs and the members of District Bar Association Pulwama.

On this occasion, the preamble reading ceremony was led by Principal District & Sessions Judge Pulwama, who spoke about the importance of this day, highlighting the features of the Indian Constitution.

In Bandipora, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bandipora in coordination with TLSC Bandipora and in collaboration with District Judiciary Bandipora today celebrated Constitution Day ‘Samvidhan Divas’ with great enthusiasm and fervor at ADR Centre District Court Complex Bandipora.

The programme was held under the guidance of Chairman, (DLSA) (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Bandipora, Khalil Ahmad Choudhary and guidance of Secretary, DLSA/Chief Judicial Magistrate Bandipora, Iqbal Ahmad Akhoon.

The programme was attended by Susheel Singh (Additional District & Sessions Judge), Bandipora; Amandeep Singh, Munsiff/JMIC Bandipora; Rouf-ul-Mushtaq, Chief Administrative Officer District Court Bandipora; Masood Ahmad Bhat (President Bar Association) Bandipora and other participants comprising of staff of District Judiciary Bandipora, members of Bar Associations Bandipora, Staff Members of DLSA Bandipora, LADCs Bandipora, Para Legal Volunteers and other participants.

The celebration was marked by reading of the Preamble of Indian Constitution by Principal District and Sessions Judge Bandipora to reaffirm commitment to uphold its ideology which was followed by everyone assembled on the special occasion.

Meanwhile, Tehsil Legal Services Committees, Sumbal and Gurez also celebrated Constitution Day ‘Samvidhan Divas’ in their respective court premises under the guidance of chairpersons with participation of Staff Members and Para Legal Volunteers.

In Kulgam, Under the chairmanship of Aijaz Ahmed Khan, (PDJ/Chairman) DLSA, Kulgam and under the guidance of Secretary DLSA Kulgam, Muzamil Ahmad Wani, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Kulgam today organized a solemn event to honor and reaffirm the values enshrined in the Constitution of India.

The event commenced with the collective reading of the Preamble, which was led by the Additional District and Sessions Judge Kulgam, Parvaiz Iqbal and included participation of Chief Judicial Magistrate Kulgam, Additional Special Mobile Magistrate Kulgam, Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMIC) Kulgam, President Bar Association Kulgam, APP, staff members of Judiciary and DLSA, LADCs and Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs).

Tehsil Legal Services Committee DH Pora and Qazigund also held a Preamble Reading session and marked the significance of the Day.

In Shopian, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Shopian today celebrated Constitution Day within the Court premises of District Court Complex Shopian with great enthusiasm and fervor.

The event witnessed the presence of Mehmood Ahmad Chowdhary, Chairman DLSA (Principal District & Sessions Judge) Shopian, who graced the occasion as the chief guest.

The programme was attended by Judicial Officers of District Shopian, Members of the Bar, Administrative and Ministerial Staff of District Judiciary Shopian, Members of the LADC System, Panel Lawyers, Staff members of DLSA and Para Legal Volunteers of DLSA, Shopian.
