Amidst a tussle between the Food and civil Supplies Department and the whole sale Mutton dealers over the prices of sacrificial sheep and goats, the concerned department has set up 12 checking teams in Srinagar to fix the fixed prices on the ground.
Dispute arose between the FCS&CA and the Mutton dealers after the concerned Department fixed the prices of the sacrificial animals on Monday. Director Food and Civil Supplies warned violators of legal action.
On Saturday, the Director FCS&CA Dr. Abdul Islam Mir formed an additional 12 teams to implement these prices on the ground. Director said that 12 additional teams have been formed in Srinagar in view of Eid-ul-Adha and these teams will be deployed in sensitive places and markets for procurement of sacrificial animals. The order said that the purpose of forming these teams is to address the problems and grievances of the people on the spot in the purchase of sacrificial animals, and if necessary, these teams can seek help from the nearest police station.
According to the order, these teams will be in addition to the North, South and Central Enforcement Squad, which are already working under the Assistant Director Enforcement. TSOs have been included in these teams. The areas in which these teams will work include Habak, Gulab Bagh, Telball, Naseem Bagh, Zakora, Hazrabal University, Saada Kadal, Nageen, Hawal,Alamgari Bazaar, Nowshera, Mill Stop, Soura, 90 Feett Road, Bajhpura, Ahmednagar, Pandach Amada Kadal and Ranawari, Barbarshah, Dalgate, Dragjan, Batwara, Sonawar, Panth Chowk, Khanoma including Nishat, Brain, Shalimar, Haroon, Mulfok, Dara and Nowshera, Safa Kadal, Eid Gah, Ali Jan Road, Zuni Mar, Khanyar, Khayyam, r, Bulbul Linker, Zeena Kadal, Maharajganj, Haba Kadal, Gaw Kadal, Pathar Masjid, Batapura, Bar Hama, Chhata Bal, Shahiar, Thug Baba, Kani Kadal, Tankipura, Prashiar, Amira Kadal, Shaheed Ganj, Haft Chinar, Solina and its adjoining areas. According to the order, the teams will work in the areas of Raj Bagh, Qamarwari, Shala Teng, HMT, Parimpura, lawaypora, Majha Gand, Malura, Sangam, Gund HussaiButt, Mahjoor Nagar, Jawahar Nagar, Lasjan, Ram. Bagh, Chhanapora, Nogam Bypass, Hyderpora, Barzala, Pir Bagh, Hamhama, Rawalpora, Rangrit, Batmalo, Exhibition Road, Tengapura Bypass, Nawab Bazar, Karan Nagar, Bal Garden, Kak Sarai and surrounding areas.
. These teams have been directed to submit compliance reports to the concerned assistant directors on a daily basis, while disciplinary action will be taken against any officer who acts negligently. The Assistant Directors of other districts have also been directed to form teams in the districts coming under their jurisdiction in the same manner
