Baramulla:In a bid to support local agriculture and facilitate sale cum easier access to organic produce, a significant step was taken with the inauguration of a Sale Centre at the Agriculture Complex in Baramulla.

The sale center was inaugurated by Dr. Gh. Hassan Zargar, former Head of Department (Plant Breeding and Genetics) at SKUAST-K, the event witnessed the presence of esteemed officials including the Chief Agriculture Officer of Baramulla Yadvinder Singh Sason, SDAO Baramulla, and various district officers.

The primary aim of this newly established center, as highlighted by the Chief Agriculture Officer of Baramulla, is to ensure the availability of locally cultivated products such as Rajma, Nishasta, organic honey, dried vegetables, Rabi seeds, and more.

The center not only offers a platform for consumers to easily access these items but also serves as a convenient outlet for acquiring seedlings.

Expressing enthusiasm about the initiative, the Chief Agriculture Officer emphasized the role of the center in supporting agricultural entrepreneurs who can utilize this platform to sell their produce. By doing so, the center aims to bridge the gap between farmers and consumers, making organic products readily accessible to the residents of the area.

Furthermore, the department is on track to expand these outlets, with plans in motion to establish similar centers in Tangmarg and Sopore, thereby extending the reach of locally sourced organic products to more areas.

The inauguration of the Sale Centre stands as a crucial step in promoting local agriculture, enhancing access to organic produce, and fostering economic opportunities for agricultural entrepreneurs in the Baramulla district.
