SNS KASHMIR
On 15 January 1949, Field Marshal Kodandera M Cariappa took over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army from British General Fransis Bucher.
Every year, 15 January is celebrated as the Indian Army Day with full zeal, passion and pride throughout the country. Even the students of Nusrup-Al-Uloom Madarsa, Halmatpura, Kupwara celebrated the Indian Army Day. A drawing and painting competition was organised in the Madarsa in which approx 20 students participated.
Theme for the competition was National Symbols and all the participants did their best, by drawing mesmerising paintings of National Flag, beauty of kashmir, and national symbols too. These young bright kids were very delighted while participating in the event. The best paintings were awarded by the Indian Army.
Indian Army also organised a Drug Awareness Campaign for the locals on the occasion. More than 100 youth attended the event and took pledge to refrain themselves from use of drugs.
Snow Games were also organised for the kids wherein everyone participated with full ardour and had a delightful and memorable day.
