A free medical camp was organised by Indian Army for the residents of Upper Manigah with assistance from BMO Dr Mohammed Ashraf, with an aim to reduce hardships of the people living in the far-flung areas in Manigah such as Brimbal, Soniwali, Baliya, Bhati and Chatwan where access to health care has always been a challenge.


A joint team of three doctors and Nursing staff from the Army and civil including a lady doctor were made available under one roof for free medical check-ups, dispensing free medicines and rendering advice in maintaining good health, nutritional lifestyle to all patients who turned up for health check-up and consultation.
The medical camp witnessed a turnout of approx 300 patients , including men, women and children, who received much needed medical consultation and free medicines from the volunteer doctors. Along with this, an awareness program was also organised for the visitors on the issues related to maternity health, family plg, life style diseases .
Apart from that, registration of Golden Health Card through CSC Centre was also organised in which 50 persons were registered. An awareness regarding the benefits of registration for golden health cards was also conducted. FMPHW (Female Multipurpose Help Worker) along with 5 Aasha Workers were also present to help registration of pregnant ladies.
The response from the locals was overwhelming and appealed to the Army to organize more such camps in future. Such initiatives by the Army will go a long way to promote health, peace, progress and wellbeing among the masses.
