Apni Party Chief Spokesperson and mentor Baramulla-Kupwara districts Javid Baig on Wednesday expressed deep anguish over the complacent approach adopted by medical staff at Government Medical College Baramulla.

In a statement issued here, Baig said the local residents are suffering immensely due to the dereliction of duty by the staff members of Medical College Baramulla which has even resulted in the death of a youth.

“Recently a 28-year-old youth named Rashid Ahmad Dar resident of Kralhaar-Baramulla died because of the medical negligence he met at the Baramulla hospital. He was later on shifted to Srinagar where he was declared dead,” Baig observed.

He said that such reprehensible incident remains a blot on our society and those involved in this heinous carelessness must be dealt with sternly.

Baig also urged the District Administration to initiate a probe in this matter on a fast-track basis so that justice is delivered to the bereaved family who lost a breadwinner for them.

He also urged the Department of Health to incorporate new upgradation requisite for the smooth functioning of the said hospital.
