The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Friday took up and passed the Bill to amend the Jammu and Kashmir Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017.

As per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah moved the Bill for consideration and passage, highlighting the government’s intent to update and streamline GST provisions in the Union Territory.

In addition, the Secretary of the Legislative Assembly laid on the Table a copy of “The Members of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly (Disqualification on Grounds of Defection) Rules, 2025,” aimed at strengthening the anti-defection framework and ensuring adherence to legislative discipline.
