The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Secretariat on Monday issued a notification regarding the upcoming elections for three financial committees of the House, each comprising 11 members.
In a notification isaued by assembly secretariate, a copy of which lies with news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, In accordance with Regulation No. 2(1) of the Regulations for conducting elections to Assembly Committees on the principle of proportional representation through a single transferable vote, Speaker Advocate Abdul Rahim Rather announced the schedule for the elections.
Key dates include, Last date for making nominations: April 4, 2026, up to 3 PM. Scrutiny of nominations: April 6, 2026, up to 3 PM. Last date for withdrawal of candidature: April 8, 2026, up to 3 PM
Poll, if necessary: April 13, 2026, up to 3 PM
Advocate Rather also appointed Mr. Bilal Ahmed Bhat, Additional Secretary of the Legislative Assembly, as the Returning Officer to oversee the entire election process.
