Jammu, Mar 17 :

The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Monday unanimously approved the recommendations of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) regarding the schedule of House proceedings.

The motion was moved by legislator Mubarak Gul, following which Speaker Advocate Abdul Rahim Rather put the BAC report to a voice vote. Members of the Assembly unanimously endorsed the recommendations.

According to the approved schedule, the House will convene on March 17, 22, and 24, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a one-hour recess from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM. Additionally, government business originally set for April 11 has been rescheduled for March 25.

To ensure smooth proceedings, the BAC has decided that if ministers choose to read out written responses to Demands for Grants, copies of these replies will be distributed among all members.

Emphasizing the importance of maintaining order, Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather urged Party Leaders and Chief Whips to instruct members to uphold decorum and discipline during House sessions.

The revised legislative calendar, attached to the BAC report, was also approved without opposition.
