Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum has appealed the people and authorities to devise a strategy for the fruit industry with regard to cultivation costs keeping in view the current setback of marketting and sale of the apples in particular.
In a statement issued here Society Chairman Abdul Qayoom Wani has appealed the people in general and growers in particular as to not loose hope but keep up their courage high for downfall was never a permanent thing.
Society has urged upon the authorities especially the agriculture university and SKUAST Kashmir to undergo into the indepth research for how minimum cultivation costs can be made a possible thing in terms of common fertilizers, minimum number of pesticides and fungicide sprays throughout the season.
Society has reiterated its appeal to hoteliers and traditional cooks of kashmir to include apple dish in wazwan as well as in salad.And to set the trend of kashmiri “burza” variety of walnut and almond for gifts.
Society has appealed the dietitians to make people aware of medicinal and food values of apple and walnuts.
Society has appealed the govt to wave off the “kisan loan” in view of the setback to the fruit industry.
Society has appealed farmers not to convert the orchards back to paddy land for it amounts to hastiness and will cause loss to them.
