Chairman Khalid Rafiq Bhat call for solidarity among educators and renewed commitment to strengthening grassroots education

Leaders stress on timely promotions, teacher dignity, and inclusion of AAYAs and cooks in education reforms

Seloo Sopore: The Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers’ Forum (JKRETTF) organized a day-long education conference at Seelo, Zone Dangerpora (Sopore) to emphasize the role of Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers in shaping the education ecosystem of Jammu & Kashmir, as well as their active participation in the Education Department’s enrolment drives.

Chairman JKRETTF and vice Chairman EJAC Khalid Rafiq Bhat was the chief guest while with Senior Vice-President UT JKRETF Rahi Irshad, District President Mohammad Yaqoob Bhat and District General Secretary Reyaz Ahmad Ganai, District Media Head Jaan Mohammad Lone participated as guests of honour. A large number of teachers and trade union leaders attended, including District Apex members, Zonal Presidents and Zonal Executive representatives.

“Today’s conference underscores our belief that Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers are not just educators but pioneers of the future. Their engagement in the enrolment drives and their daily efforts in classrooms shape the very fabric of our education ecosystem in Jammu & Kashmir,” Bhat told while addressing the conference.

He assured the teaching fraternity that JK Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers’ Forum (JKRETTF) remains the “mother organization”—a platform for which teachers have made immense sacrifices over the years. “JKRETTF has always stood as the mother organization of the teaching community — born from the struggles and sacrifices of dedicated educators. We will continue to work tirelessly for the welfare and rights of teachers across Jammu and Kashmir,” said Chairman Khalid Rafiq Bhat.

He further emphasized that AAYAs and Mid-Day-Meal Cooks are integral parts of the education system, acknowledging their vital role in ensuring a supportive learning environment.“AAYAs and cooks are equally important pillars of our education system.

Their genuine demands will be taken up with the concerned government authorities so that justice is done to every worker contributing to our schools,”he added.

Senior Vice President UT Rahi Irshad,” “As Senior Vice President, I commend the sustained efforts of Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers who have answered the call of duty and stepped into the frontline of the enrolment initiative. Their dedication ensures that every child finds a seat in school and a teacher who cares.”

District President Mohammad Yaqoob Bhat, “We are deeply concerned at the delays in convening DPC meetings and the resultant hardship for our colleagues. I urge the authorities to expedite the process and clear all pending Time-Bound Promotion files, because our teachers deserve timely recognition and relief.”“JKRETTF believes in the culture of respect — we must respect our officers, and in turn, they must respect teachers. Respect should always be reciprocal, for it is the foundation of a healthy organization and a progressive educational ecosystem. If any officer fails to extend due respect to you, do not feel obliged to offer it in return. Mutual regard is essential for harmony and growth in our system,” he added.

District General Secretary JKRETTF Reyaz Ahmad Ganai said, “We are fighting for the real cause, honour and dignity of our beloved Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers of J&K under the banner of JK Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers’ Forum “Teacher and non-teaching staff need not worry; the department is taking all measures to ensure speedy clearance of pending Time-Bound Promotion files.”

In his welcome address, Zonal President JKRETTF Dangerpora, Zahoor Ahmad Ganai, highlighted the importance of strengthening the Union (which is affiliated with the EJAC) and mobilising teachers for the department’s enrolment-drives to boost school enrollment.

Zonal Presidents Mohammad Amin Mir (Rohama) and Showkat Ahmad Wani (Sopore) presented comprehensive reviews of the pressing challenges faced by schools, highlighting the need for timely distribution of free textbooks, prompt release of School Development Grants under the Samagra Shiksha scheme, and focused attention on overall infrastructure development.

Zonal Presidents Mohammad Amin Mir (Rohama) said, “Our schools require more than motivated teachers — they need resources, grants and infrastructure that match the ambition we hold for our students. Only then can we realise the full promise of education.”Showkat Ahmad Wani (Sopore) said,“The issues of textbook availability, school development grants and infrastructure cannot be sidelined while we talk of enrolment and future growth. Solutions must be timely and sustained.”
