Out of 95, Aska student of BMS Sheeri Payeen, Faisal of HSS Chandilora Tangmarg of Baramulla district among 11 students selected for national level exhibition

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir State Council of Educational Research and Training- (JKSCERT) in collaboration with National Innovation Foundation (NIF), an institution of Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India organized State Level Exhibition and Project Competition(SLEPC) under Innovation in Science Pursuits for Research for Inspired Research Awards (INSPIRE Awards-2021-22) a Million Minds Augmenting National Aspiration and Knowledge (MANAK ) program of in which 96 selected innovators from different schools of Kashmir division participated at SCERT Complex Bemina Srinagar on Monday.
Director School Education, Kashmir Dr. Tasaduq Hussain Mir was chief guest while as Joint Director, SCERT, Kashmir Division Mohd Shareef Deedhar and Joint Director SCERT Central, Office Fayaz Ahmad Fayaz were guests of honour. Besides Nodal Officer for Inspire Award MANAK SCERT Kashmir Division Sajad Ahmad Mir and Sameer Ahmad from National Innovation of Foundation were present on the occasion.
After interacting with young innovators participating in the SLEPC, Director School Education Kashmir, Dr. Tasaduq Hussain Mir, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said that we need to provide proper platform to the students so that they can showcase their talents. The exhibition aims to create scientific temperament among the students.
SCERT Kashmir Division Nodal Officer for Inpsire Manak Sajad Ahmad Mir said, “The aim of INSPIRE award MANAK is to foster a culture of creative and innovative ideas among students to address the problems of the society through Science and Technology. We have to create scientific t temperament among students by getting new and creative ideas from them.”
“We have to jolt our minds to get ideas and find solutions to our daily problems though innovative ideas with the help of science and technology,’ said Joint Director (Central), Joint Director SCERT Central, Office Fayaz Ahmad Fayaz .
Out of 126 projects, eleven projects were selected for national level exhibition. The students who make it to national level include Sidratul Muntaha for Device for Sleepwalking Alarm, Adil Rashid Baba for Pen holding tool for handless, Adfar Jan for Theft Proof ATM Machine, Mehkee Jan for Mathematics Learning Rebort, Aska Manzoor of BMS Sheeri Payeen Zone Fathegarh for Smart Electric Pole, Faisal Ahmad Kumar of HSS Chandilora Tangmarg fo Hydraulic Bridge Blocker, Sajad Thoker for Modified Cutter to cut tin sheets, Talib Hussain for Adjustable patient toilet, Rashid Ahmed Wagay for Portable Gas Cylinders and Saniya Saleema for Ink Cleaning to make reusable respectively.
As two students from Baramulla District were also selected for NLEPC, Nodal Officer Inspire Award MANAK DIET Sopore Dr. Pavaiz Ahmed Lone said, “ INSPIRE Aawards-MANAK is one of the flagship programs conceptualized and executed to attract talent and expose to science at an early age of 10-15 years.
“Students are invited from all government and private schools of the country to send their original and creative ideas and innovations that help to solve any daily problem faced by society. Out of 104, 12 ideas and projects were selected from Baramulla district among which two students class 8th Aksa Manzor of Government Middle School Sheeri Payeen Zone Fathegarh and Faisal Ahmad Kumar of HSS Chandilora Tangmarg got selected for national level competition,” he informed.
JKSCERT expressed gratitude to all guests, teachers, DIET faculty and felicitated the students for making the exhibition success.
The expert jury include Dr. Khalid Sultan, HOD Physics, Central University Kashmir, . Malik Sajad, Sr. Scientist, Quality Control Laboratory, Srinagar, Dr. Farooq, Hussain Bhat, Sr. Assistant Professor Physics, JUST, Awantipora. Ruheena Tabadum, Sr. Assistant Professor Chemistry, SP College, Srinagar, Sameer Ahmad from NIF, Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, Wing Head, ESM, SCERT, Kashmir Division.
A large number of students and teachers from various schools of the Kashmir province participated while as Dr. Sajad Hussain, Javid Ahmad Dar, Asima, Amarpreet, Bilkis Fatima, Sr. Academic officers of ESM, SCERT, Kashmir Division and other faculty of the SCERT, Kashmir Division, Mutahara Haneef, abdul Hamid, Riyaz, Mr. Bashir and all other members of SCERT, Kashmir Division.
