Exams were Earlier Cancelled after Alleged paper leak

Srinagar, Aug 28,

The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) on Thursday announced the new date for the OMR-based written examination for the post of Junior Engineer (Electrical) in the Power Development Department, which was earlier postponed due to adverse weather conditions and disruptions caused by continuous rainfall across the Union Territory.

As per the notification issued by the Controller of Examinations, Reyaz Ahmad Malik, the examination that was cancelled vide Notice No. JKSSB/COEOExam/UT/29/2025-03 (7722899) dated 24-08-2025 will now be conducted on September 21, 2025.

The Board said fresh admit cards will be issued for the examination and will be available on the official website www.jkssb.nic.in from September 15, 2025 onwards. Candidates have been advised to download their admit cards anew and not to rely on the previously issued ones.

Officials said the earlier postponement was necessitated as heavy rainfall had caused waterlogging in several areas, impacting transport and logistics, making it difficult to ensure smooth and fair conduct of the exam across different centers.

The JKSSB has further advised candidates to regularly visit the official website for updates and instructions.

Earlier on 24 August, J&K Services Selection Board (JKSSB) cancelled the OMR-based written examination for the post of Junior Engineer (Electrical) in the Power Development Department after widespread public uproar and allegations of a paper leak.

The OMR-based exam was conducted at 35 designated centres across Jammu and Srinagar on Sunday.
